David McGarry

David McGarry is the Vice President of Veterans Affairs for Aliya Health Groups’ addiction and mental health treatment centers, operating out of Las Vegas, Nevada. David has worked in the behavioral health field for over a decade. He has held several outreach positions as well as several treatment roles where he worked directly with patients.

David earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University. He is certified in several patient interaction areas, including crisis intervention and motivational interviewing. David has worked with many patient populations, including adolescents, adults, unhoused people, and veterans. In 2015, David transitioned into outreach-focused roles because he saw it as an opportunity to play a larger part in recovery by connecting more people with effective substance use treatment. David McGarry’s passion for his work stems from a genuine desire to help others. He finds the most rewarding part of his role to be the opportunity to play a meaningful part in someone’s recovery journey.

Born in Chicago, David experienced a dynamic childhood, relocating over 15 times by the age of 15, with Ohio being the place he called home the longest. A former basketball player, he values the sense of teamwork that now defines his professional life. In his free time, David enjoys staying active, watching movies, reading comic books, enjoying sports, and cherishing moments with his family.
