Joe Ilcus, MBA, MSHA, is our Vice President of Compliance. Joe has been a vital part of our team for nearly five years, having joined the team initially as the National Compliance Director. Bringing over 25 years of healthcare compliance experience, his expertise in Joint Commission accreditation, chart auditing, employee training, information privacy, and risk mitigation has supported our growth from 3 to 13 facilities. Joe is certified by the Health Care Compliance Association and continues to be a trusted resource across the organization.

Joe Ilcus has worked in the behavioral health field since 2014, holding positions in compliance, performance improvement, and quality assurance. He earned master’s degrees in both business administration (MBA) and health administration (MSHA) from the University of Denver. In Joe’s role, he’s responsible for various programs, policies, and company practices that ensure all treatment centers follow accrediting standards. He also monitors regulatory requirements and develops audit tools.

Joe Ilcus transitioned to the behavioral health field so he could work in an industry that helps people attain a second chance in life. He is passionate about keeping our treatment facilities in compliance with the highest industry standards, so we can provide the best care possible to patients. Joe is an avid fisherman and enjoys boating with family and friends in his spare time.

Footprints to Recovery is an instrument of hope that helped me and my family face and understand the challenges of addiction. The practitioners, clinicians, and patient-centered community have offered numerous ways to renew my motivation for living sober and healthy. Now, I am visualizing again how my higher power has acted and remains in my life.
