The most intensive recovery program at our Studio City location, partial hospitalization programming takes places Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3:30 PM. While in a PHP, you will live in your own home or Malibu Recovery Center’s sober living home. Many find the programming structure of a PHP valuable as it allows them to stay focused on the overall goal of recovery and avoid distraction while in treatment.
Intensive outpatient care is another form of outpatient rehab that offers even more flexibility and independence than a PHP. Programming in Studio City takes place Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM. IOP is a continuation of PHP in that the goal is to develop coping skills and recognize the signs of relapse before it happens. You’ll learn to navigate the people, places, and things in life that trigger your substance abuse, symptoms of mental illness, or both. Again, you will have the option to live at home or in Malibu Recovery Center’s sober living environment during an IOP.
Life skills improvement is essential during this phase, and it’s expected that everyone in IOP recovery has some form of employment. The team at Malibu Recovery Center can assist you in looking for a job that suits your interests and needs.
Outpatient care in Studio City at Malibu Recovery Center affords clients even more flexibility in their recovery. It builds on the skills learned in previous levels of care so that someone has the tools they need for sustained sobriety. Those in outpatient care are more confident in their ability to say no to drugs and alcohol thanks to the programming they’ve already completed. Outpatient rehab allows someone to continue to work on their recovery journey while still getting the structured care and support they need from their clinical team and peer support system. Clients live at home or in Malibu’s sober living facility while following their recovery plan as outlined by their clinical team.

Executive Director
At the helm of our California facilities, Kylee Briney, MBA has served as Executive Director since 2020. Kylee has been working in mental health and substance abuse treatment for over six years. She earned a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Capella University. Kylee’s extensive background in management and human resources along with previous roles at addiction treatment centers serve her well in her position. Within her role, she dedicates her time to ensuring that all aspects of administration, operations, and programming run smoothly, so clients receive the best care possible.
Kylee’s known for her head-on approach to management. She has an exceptional ability to problem-solve with staff and encourage them to be their best. Kylee believes the way her team works together to draw on each individual’s unique strengths is what makes our facilities so amazing. She strives to foster a supportive environment for team members and clients, so they have an accepting, safe space to work and recover.
Kylee’s passion for her work stems from her own recovery journey and the life-changing experience of being in addiction treatment herself. When she isn’t working, she loves spending time with her husband and children or helping people reach their fitness goals as a personal trainer.
Clinical Director
In her role as clinical director, Maria mentors and develops our California addiction treatment programs and helps develop protocols and policies that enhance quality care and support. Maria holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She has been working in the behavioral health field since 2014 and is trained in several specialties, including Seeking Safety, Crisis-Oriented Recovery Services (CORS), motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy, and LGBTQIA addiction treatment. She has served in various roles during her careers, such as Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, Lead Therapist, Executive Clinical Liaison, Therapist Mentor, BHT Supervisor, and Referral Coordinator.
Maria got into this work as a way of paying it forward. As an at-risk youth with a trauma history, she was allowed to improve her life through therapy and discovered the power of choice. She finds it rewarding to help others see that they too have the power of choice in re-directing their lives. Maria is bilingual, and in her free time, she enjoys drawing, painting, and listening to audible books.
