Do Rehab Centers in Illinois Treat Alcohol and Drug Addiction?

Illinois rehab centers provide thorough treatment programs for alcohol and drug addiction. Offering a range of specialized services, from detox to aftercare planning, these centers are well-prepared to address the challenges of substance abuse disorders. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, around 3,000 people die each year in the state from an overdose. The vast majority of those deaths involve opioids.

A rehab center in Illinois can offer effective and personalized treatment programs for alcohol and drug addiction. The Aliya Health Group approach includes medically supervised detox, evidence-based therapies, dual-diagnosis treatments, and strong aftercare plans, making us a valuable resource for those seeking help with substance abuse issues.

Detox and Rehab Facility in Illinois

Medical detoxification, also known as detox is the process of flushing out all traces of drugs or alcohol from a person’s body. This is typically the first stage of the recovery process when beginning alcohol and drug addiction treatment. While some people attempt to detox on their own, it’s highly recommended that detox occurs under medical supervision, at a professional treatment and rehab center. This is especially important for alcohol detox and some drug detox as withdrawal symptoms could be very serious. Detox can be extremely uncomfortable and potentially life-threatening due to withdrawal symptoms that are often experienced when substance use is discontinued, especially for those individuals who have developed a chemical dependency.

Our detox program in Illinois will guide you through detox as comfortably and as safely as possible. Our compassionate clinical team will provide around-the-clock health care and administer medications that can help manage the cravings and negative effects of withdrawal.

All rehab clients are provided with personalized treatment plans that include a variety of science-backed treatment modalities for treating the body, mind, and spirit. Depending on your specific needs, your customized treatment program may include counseling, behavioral therapy, medication-assisted treatment, meditation and mindfulness therapies, inpatient rehab, health and wellness education, nutrition therapy, fitness and exercise programs, and recreational activities.

We accept in-and-out-of-state clients and proudly support military veterans. Aliya Health Group does not discriminate based on age, sex, or gender.

Alcohol and Drug Detox in Illinois

Detoxing from long-term addiction, whether it’s opioids or alcohol, is a tough journey. At Aliya Health Group treatment facilities, we provide safe and medically assisted detox to help manage withdrawal and start your recovery journey. Our drug and alcohol detox services aim to empower you on your path to freedom from substance use disorder.

Detoxification is a big challenge in the recovery journey. During this process, as the body removes toxic substances, the brain may react with withdrawal symptoms while adjusting to its normal state without drugs or alcohol. The severity and duration of addiction, along with the specific substance, can lead to various distressing withdrawal symptoms when stopping substance use.

Illinois Substance Abuse Statistics

Every year, many Illinois residents face addiction, a persistent problem linked to drug or alcohol use. This issue can lead to legal troubles. When people are caught in addiction’s grip, they find it hard to control their substance cravings, jeopardizing not just their financial situation but also their social status, employment, and clean record. The economic toll of addiction on the state is significant, estimated to surpass $3.5 billion.

Alcohol Addiction

Over 6% of adults in Illinois are facing alcohol addiction. The good news is that alcohol addiction treatment can be highly beneficial. Starting with alcohol detox, patients withdraw from alcohol under the care of trained medical staff. Some may need medication to manage physical and mental symptoms. Following detox, individuals might continue treatment in our residential center or through outpatient services. Our clinical team collaborates with your healthcare providers to determine the best plan. We also assist in understanding the potential cost of alcohol addiction treatment through your insurance provider.

Marijuana Addiction

Marijuana became legal for adult recreational use in Illinois in 2020. Anyone over the age of 21 can purchase and use the drug. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, most cannabis users smoke or use edibles or vape oils or liquids. In healthcare, marijuana is most commonly used to manage pain, headaches/migraines, sleep disturbances, and lack of appetite.

Admission to treatment centers for cannabis use disorder fell in 2020 to 5,467 compared with over 8,000 admissions in 2018 and 2019 per the Treatment Episode Data Set.

Heroin Addiction

From 2011 to 2015, law enforcement seizures of heroin surged by 2,035%. Those numbers continue to rise today. A 2017 assessment called “Heroin in Illinois,” revealed a rise in both fatal and non-fatal overdoses attributed to heroin. The state has seen such a significant increase in heroin-related issues over the past decade that various agencies, including the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Illinois Department of Human Services, formed a Heroin Response Work Group, declaring heroin overdoses an emergency. 2022 data from the Illinois Department of Health showed more than 3,000 overdoses in 2021, many of which were attributable to opioid drugs like heroin or prescription pills.

Opioid Addiction

In 2020, opioid analgesic overdoses were the leading cause of fatal overdoses, with fentanyl being the main contributor to this trend. Together, they resulted in nearly 800 fatal overdoses, but only 258 were related to opioids or combo medications excluding fentanyl. The remaining 540 were attributed to fentanyl.

Cost of Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Chicago
